On the trail of the Celts and Romans

Embark on an impressive journey through the ancient past of Upper Carinthia and Mühldorf. You will be accompanied by Matugenta, a Celtic girl who lived in Mühldorf almost 2,000 years ago. Together with Matugenta, the journey of discovery into the world of the Celts and Romans becomes an experience for the whole family. All content is presented in a child-friendly way and is supported by film sequences and puzzles.

Celtic path

The barrier-free themed trail tells the story of Celtic life in Mühldorf in the 1st century AD. The focus here is on the Celtic school system, the world of the gods, nutrition and tribal life.

Roman path

With the arrival of the Romans in Carinthia, an extensive network of paths and roads was created. On this circular route, Matugenta takes you along the Roman road into the Mölltal valley, which is located north-east of Mühldorf.

Precious metals such as silver were already a sought-after raw material in ancient times. Along the access road to the historically documented settlement site of the Celts and Romans in Mühldorf, there are reports of mining activities in ancient times.
